At K-9 Manners, we strive to create a language and a form of communication between you and your dog using a "Positive Approach". This method of giving the dog information with motivation teaches him self-confidence and, at the same time, learning to think out a situation. He will learn to read his owner's body language and gestures in order to determine the proper response. A quick and proper response brings down a shower of praise and reward.
We believe that training you is just as important as training the dog. You should learn how to properly ask for a response from the dog. They can not give you the 'ANSWER' if he does not know the 'QUESTION'.
As a professional animal trainer, Kathy Morris has over 10 years experience as a dog trainer. Working with local animal shelters and rescue groups, she applies behavioral techniques to abused, neglected and abandoned dogs of all sizes and ages.
Learning what a difference a well trained dog can make in our community, led her to become a licensed AKC/CGC Evaluator. Currently, Kathy and her dogs volunteer with an Animal Assisted Therapy group and is a Licensed Evaluator for the Delta Society.
